Free Sound Files and Sound Effects
The files listed on this page have been used in some of our example programs and tutorials. They are royalty free and can be used in any application as long as you credit the original source (unless it is in the Public Domain). Any additional conditions of use will be mentioned alongside each sound clip. The SoundBible.com is a good source of free to use sounds.
To work with sound files on your computer the free Audacity program is a good application, it does play back, editing, effects and more.

A Baby's Cry
Came across a sound file while sorting through some old backups. I knew I still had it somewhere. A recording of my first born son in March 1997 at six months old. I used a IBM 701CS running Windows 3.1, us techies remember such useless stuff. The IBM 701CS was one of the best laptops I have ever owned. I loved the butterfly keyboard, lent it to a friend and never saw it again. Kids grow up so quickly, nice to have a reminder of the baby stage. The original file was in Windows WAV format but I've converted it for direct play here.
